West Virginia Spectral Heritage Research Team

The WV Spectral Heritage Program team includes two main members, Jason Burns and John Mullins.  Both are lifelong West Virginians who spend a great deal of their time researching, exploring, and photographing this wild, wonderful state.

Jason grew up in Pendleton County, WV, in Monkeytown, WV near Riverton, WV.  He obtained a BA in Journalism from Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA.  After that, he received a Masters Degree in Sociology from West Virginia University, with a focus on social history.  He currently lives and works in Morgantown, WV, while he works toward a second MA in Education Leadership.
 
His other interests include researching West Virginia history and culture, visiting museums and historic sites, photography, writing, storytelling, website design, and drawing.

John Mullins and a neighborhood friend

John Mullins grew up in Oak Hill, WV, a town in Fayette County.  John has a BA in History from West Virginia University, and is currently working on a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.  He now lives and works in Morgantown, WV. 
 
John's hobbies include photography, cooking, Ancient Roman history, Colonial America, and canoeing.
